On the 25th of October 2005, SonyBMG had a Press Conference at Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand about a new album of Steven Seagal. This album spent 5 years for recording and producing and working with Ric Wake who was a producer of Shakira and Celine Dion). The first single of this album was “Girl it’s Alright” which has been recommended for a nice song and the most important thing is the MV of this song was shooting in Thailand at the Northern part of Thailand, Chiang Mai.

In the album Songs from the Crystal Cave, Stevie Wonder was invited for playing the Harmonica in the song My God and so many famous artist from Jamaica, Dj.Stitchie, Tony Rebel. Not only singing he also composed the songs and co-produce almost whole of his album.

Hollywood action star Steven Seagal has surprised fans by releasing a blues music album.
The actor went to Bangkok, Thailand, to promote his first album, Songs From The Crystal Cave, and single, Girl It's Alright.

Seagal revealed that music was not a new medium for him, saying he first started playing at the age of five.

The star of films such as Under Siege and The Patriot said it was time to let people know about his other passion.

"Just because some people don't know, but I've been playing the music since I was five years old and I've no intention of stopping movies right now but I have intention of letting the world know about my music," he said.

Seagal's new career has got off to a promising start, with his single reaching number one in the charts in Thailand and France.

Speaking in Bangkok, Seagal proclaimed his love for Asia.

"It's my dream and my hope that it'll sell well in the countries that I love. I'm from Asia, I was raised in Asia. I love Thailand and I'm hoping it'll sell well in particular in Asia," he said.

The music video for the single Girl It's Alright was made in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Super Star Steven Seagal, currently on a press tour of Japan in support of his new blues album, "Songs from the Crystal Cave"...

Hollywood star Steven Seagal is in town promoting not only his latest movie but also a new CD. The actor appeared on the Tokudane wide show this morning, speaking fluent Japanese and doing a pretty good PR job.

His latest action film, Into the Sun was filmed entirely in Tokyo and Seagal's dialog is almost all in Japanese, and Kansai-ben no less! He is married to a Japanese and has two children working in the entertainment business here as well as his own aikido dojo. But his American roots are there to see in his new CD, a blues album called Songs from the Crystal Cave. He collaborated on the album with such major names as Stevie Wonder. Asked during the Tokudane show for a comment on Sylvester Stallone's new Rocky 6 project, Seagal grinned as he said that Sly obviously didn't get much work these days.

Washington: After beating the brains out of the bad guys for all these years, it seems that all-action hero, Steven Segal, is finally getting hit by the blues.

But not the moody blues, but the musical ones, with him having decided it was time to put his passion to practice by producing an album dedicated to the ‘Blues’.

And towards this purpose, he has reportedly signed up blues greats like Bo Diddley and Honeyboy Edwards for a new album project, ‘Mojo Priest’, in Memphis, Tennessee, after he got a positive response from radio station bosses for a demo he recorded under a pseudonym.

“Blues is my real passion, and I’ve always wanted to do a blues record. I’ve had very close relationships with a lot of the great legends, many of whom I got to play with,” Contact Music quoted him, as telling billboard.com.

He also admits that he was overawed at the prospect of being in the company of greats, being his first such experience when he managed to sign up the legends for the album.

“It has been an emotional, powerful experience... We had folks that were there, in my opinion, at the real beginning of the blues,” he said.

But he says that he feels bad that some of the legends that were supposed to perform on the album passed away before he could get a chance to work with them.

“Little Milton, Gatemouth Brown and RL Burnside were friends of mine and they were all scheduled to play on this record, but they all suddenly passed away. We lost three within a month,” he told the site.

Seagal hopes to complete the album by the end of the year.

"As a devoted musician and student of the blues, I wanted to document the important contribution each of these amazing artists has made to our musical heritage," Seagal, who is producing the project, said in a statement. "I regret that many of the great blues icons are no longer with us, but have no doubt that their spirit will continue to inspire all of us for generations to come."Seagal will record the as-yet-untitled album in Memphis, and it is expected to hit stores during the first half of 2006, according to a press release. "Songs from the Crystal Cave," Seagal's musical debut--already released in France, where it topped the charts--will surface in the U.S. during the latter half of 2006.

Seagal Chasing The Blues In Memphis !!

Steven Seagal has become a household name as the star of dozens of action films, but he's hoping to become just as well-known for his musical endeavors. Seagal is in Memphis recording an album tentatively titled "Mojo Priest," which finds him working in the company of such blues legends as Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters Band members Bob Margolin and Hubert Sumlin, Koko Taylor, James Cotton, Robert Lockwood Jr. and 90-year-old guitarist David "Honeyboy" Edwards."Blues is my real passion, and I've always wanted to do a blues record," Seagal tells Billboard.com. "I've had very close relationships with a lot of the great legends, many of whom I got to play with."

A mix of Seagal originals and what he describes as "blues classics," the album's final track list will be chosen from a pool of about 18 tunes. Among the cuts recorded so far are "Dust My Broom" with guitarist Louisiana Red, "Wang Dang Doodle" with Taylor and "Slow Boat to China" with Ruth Brown. "It has been an emotional, powerful experience," Seagal enthuses. "Yesterday and today, we had folks that were there, in my opinion, at the real beginning of the blues."

Seagal has also been filming the sessions for a potential DVD release, "because God knows, these folks won't be around forever," he says. "Little Milton, Gatemouth Brown and R.L. Burnside were friends of mine and they were all scheduled to play on this record, but they all suddenly [passed away]. We lost three within a month."

Seagal is hoping to finish the album before the end of the year and then begin fielding offers for its release. "I decided to fund the record myself, which is always much better, then shop it and see who wants to jump in," he says. "This will cost me at least $300,000 to do it right. But I want to do it right, because I'm a perfectionist."

A North American tour is in the works next year in support of the album. But beforehand, Seagal will spend time abroad promoting a second, non-blues CD, "Songs From The Crystal Cave" which is available internationally and should see North American release in early 2006. He will also perform with his blues band on New Year's Eve at actor Morgan Freeman's Ground Zero club in Clarksdale, Miss.

"I've always loved the blues since I was a child," Seagal says. "Music is what I did first, and it's my first love and my main love."

Steven, known for his martial arts movies, also is a singer-guitarist with a CD, Songs From The Crystal Cave, to his credit. He performed with the Preston Shannon Band. Organized in partnership with Fischer Construction and At Home Tennessee magazine, Extreme Estate at 9780 Legends Drive in the Legends subdivision in Collierville showcases the latest in design, home trends and technology. Some of the area's most prominent designers donated their services for the home, which is open to the public through Oct. 2. A buffet dinner from area restaurants was served at the house; dessert was next door at another house built by Fischer Construction. Opera singer Kallen Esperian and Sam Shoup discovered the grand piano in that house and performed an impromptu concert of standards, including "The Man I Love" and "As Time Goes By," for surprised and delighted guests. Sam was the arranger on Kallen's new CD, Lover Come Back.

Five (5) of the six (6) bullets fired by Steven hit the head and chest of the fake target which was made up to look like a bad guy with a hostage. That was a result of 5 out of 6 bullets for Steven Seagal which was deemed as very good.

Romanian Police officials have said that Steven Seagal was very precise and accurate when shooting and that his result was deemed very good for someone who does not make a living out of shooting REAL LIFE bad guys. They said that in movies it is much easier to shoot since you are using fake bullets and the target already has little explosions in his clothes made to look and sound like bullets hitting the target. They said that the had not expected Steven Seagal to be so good with a REAL weapon in a close to real situation.

Although it was organized on a very hot day, starting at 3 p.m., the concert gathered more people than expected. Once the sun went down, large groups of people started to arrive in the square.Pepe, Akcent, HI-Q, Class, Nicola, Nightloosers, Trooper, Analia, Banica jr., Bere Gratis, Vita de vie, and Voltaj, were some of the artists and bands who sang at the concert. The crowd started yelling when Vama Veche came on stage, as they had organized the event. The last band to sing was Iris, who were the only ones who came back on the stage when the public asked them to. Other organizers of the event were the Agency for dreams, Bucharest City Hall and Romanian public television. The concert is part of the "Defeat the waters" campaign, carried out between July, 14 and December, 1, by Romanian Television and the Romanian Patriarchy. SIXTY years ago this weekend, the nuclear age began. At a top secret test site near Alamogordo, N.M., scientists successfully exploded an atomic weapon for the first time -- paving the way for a pair of nuclear bombs to be dropped on Japan a month later to end World War II. On Saturday, a small band of Zen monks and peace activists began a 1,600- mile walk from San Francisco to the Trinity Test Site in New Mexico to remind the world of the horrors of nuclear war and to help ensure the weapons are never used again. Some of the monks traveled from Japan aboard the Nippon Maru ship, carrying a lantern that was lit from a famous peace flame in Japan. The flame, in turn, was originally kindled from the embers of Hiroshima, after it was hit by a nuclear bomb in August 1945. Kerrie Ann Garlick, 34, a peace activist from Melbourne, Australia, said she was one of about two dozen people who would make the entire journey. But she said hundreds more volunteers would walk short sections of the route. "We will never forget'' Hiroshima, she said. "That's why we walk."

The 25-day walk also comes at a time when many peace activists have been more focused on conventional violence and warfare, especially in the Middle East. With the end of the Cold War, most Americans have also been more concerned about the possibility of terrorism than a nuclear war. But at a rally Saturday near Pier 39, some activists tried to tilt the spotlight back toward the potential for nuclear war. "The hour is late. The danger is great," said Bruce Blair, a nuclear specialist with the Center for Defense Information, a nonprofit Washington, D. C., research organization. Blair served as a launch officer for the Minuteman intercontinental nuclear missile program in the 1970s.

Action movie star Steven Seagal also spoke briefly. He recently pledged $100,000 to pay for disarming a nuclear missile in Russia and said everyone must do what they can to fight nuclear weapons. "We the people have to take responsibility for this, because if any of this goes awry, we will all suffer," Seagal said. Takashi Tanemori, 67, of Lafayette gave an emotional account of how he was personally affected by the explosion when he was a boy in Hiroshima. Tanemori said he had lost his parents, two of his grandparents and two of his sisters in the blast. Tanemori said the left side of his body was so badly seared from the blast that aid workers built a cremation box for him, figuring he wouldn't survive either. Though Tanemori moved to the United States when he was 18 -- initially picking grapes in the Central Valley -- he said it had taken decades longer to truly forgive his adopted home for the bombing. He said his father finally appeared to him in a dream, warning him that revenge begets revenge. This isn't the first time peace activists have carried the atomic flame from Japan to New Mexico. Three years ago, the Hiroshima Flame Interfaith Pilgrimage group carried the flame to Los Alamos, where scientists developed the first nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan Project.

On Saturday, the monks were scheduled to walk to SBC Park and then on to Palo Alto. Stanford Memorial Church will host a service for the monks at 8 a.m. this morning before they continue on to San Jose, where a rally is a slated to be held in Japan Town at 7 p.m.

Antinuclear rally marks 60th anniversary of world's 1st nuke test
(Kyodo) _ Antinuclear activists, including monks, a Japanese lawmaker and American film star, gathered in San Francisco for the start of a one-month rally for the abolition of nuclear weapons Saturday, the 60th anniversary of the world's first nuclear test in the United States. The activists, who are mainly from Japan and the United States, will march 2,500 kilometers in three groups relaying the Hiroshima Peace Flame, a flame preserved from the Aug. 6, 1945 U.S. atomic bombing of Hiroshima, to Trinity Site in Alamogordo, New Mexico, where the United States conducted the first nuclear test July 16, 1945. A ceremony to mark the start of the peace march was held in San Francisco, attended by some 100 people including Japanese monks, atomic-bomb survivors living in the United States and U.S. citizens. A man who was 8 when Hiroshima was attacked recalled how the atomic bomb killed his parents and brothers. It later prompted him to attempt suicide at the age of 16. "I came to the United States for revenge," the man said. "But now I'm working as a messenger for peace." Also taking part in the march are Shokichi Kina, a House of Councillors member from the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan, who hails from Okinawa, the site of a bitter battle between the U.S. and Japanese forces in the closing days of World War II, and American film actor Steven Seagal. Kina, a musician-turned politician, sang his hit song calling for world peace, while Seagal said that human beings have no business possessing nuclear weapons given the threat such weapons pose. The rally was organized by a peace group in the United States and realized with help from Buddhist groups in the two countries. On Aug. 6, 1945, an American bomber dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. HE teetered backward, then collapsed in a heap of relief. Justin Leonard is not one of the more flamboyant guys on the PGA Tour. But when he tapped in a 4-foot putt to win the 10th tournament of his career -- and avoid the indignity of dithering away an 8-stroke lead -- he allowed himself to tumble to the grass. "That wasn't easy," said Leonard. No. But then, it was golf. Who said it was supposed to be? Ask Greg Norman. Ask Jean Van de Velde. Ask the newest champion of the FedEx St. Jude Classic. "I got that uh-oh feeling," Leonard said. "It was hard to watch," said Amanda, his wife. "Is he the guy in the white hat?" said Steven Seagal. That's right, Steven Seagal. Germantown's own action adventure hero. He was at the 18th green to try and sink a 20-foot putt and win $50,000 for St. Jude after the tournament was done. Seagal doesn't know anything about golf -- he had never picked up a club before Friday -- but he knows drama when he sees it. Leonard's second shot at 18 was tight against the grandstands. His lead had been cut to two strokes. "That's a hard bleeping shot," said Seagal. Hey, this isn't an R-rated tournament! But Seagal was right about the precarious position Leonard found himself in. But how could he stop it now? He hit his tee shot right on 17. If he missed the putt that followed -- a tricky 7-foot downhill slider -- the lead would be cut to a single stroke. By this time, Toms was on the practice tee, preparing himself for a possible playoff. Leonard tapped the ball toward the hole. When it dropped, he slowly, deliberately, pumped his fist. "The biggest putt of the week," he said. Naturally, Leonard couldn't find the fairway on 18, either. Then he put his second shot up against the stands. MOVIE action man STEVEN SEAGAL is honouring his mother's final wishes by releasing an album of songs he has written and recorded. The actor and martial arts star has a blues background, and has performed with BB KING and CLARENCE 'GATEMOUTH' BROWN at low-key concerts, where his talents have impressed stalwarts. But, to make sure his solo album, SONGS FROM THE CRYSTAL CAVE, isn't treated with disdain by critics, it was sent out without credits - and it's already receiving rave reviews in America.

He says, "I've written about 150 songs. My momma died two years ago, and before she did, she said, 'Son, you've got a lot of songs. Put them out. People like them.'" Seagal worked with former WAILERS TYRONE DOWNIE and AL ANDERSON, LADY SAW and Indian singer KAVITA SUBRAMANIAM (corr) on the project, and even persuaded STEVIE WONDER to play harmonica on one track. The album is already selling well in parts of Europe, but Seagal knows he'll struggle to make a dent in the US charts. He adds, "As a Buddhist, we look at life literally as the ocean of suffering, not expecting anything to go particularly smoothly."

CHILDREN buying trainers from the Red Cross Children's Hospital Heels of Hope programme have some very big shoes to fill - including those of Hollywood action star Steven Seagal. Seagal, who has been in Cape Town for several months filming Mercenary, visited the hospital and the Finkelela Children's Centre in Khayelitsha yesterday (May 11,2005). He handed over a pair of used shoes for the Heels of Hope programme, which aims to recycle 50 000 pairs, raising R250 000 for the hospital. Dressed in a brown-and-gold silk mandarin jacket and accompanied by an entourage of 15 assistants, bodyguards and Buddhist monks, Seagal toured the hospital and met several children. "My devotion to the children stems directly from my devotion to the Divine," Seagal said. "The Buddhist philosophy is to put others before ourselves." Despite having just had a dose of chemotherapy, Jade Smith, 13, was all smiles when Seagal visited her in her ward. She said she was a "big fan" and her favourite movie featuring Seagal was the 1990 hit Hard to Kill. The Red Cross Children's Hospital has 300 in-patients and treats "hundreds of thousands" of outpatients a year, according to its communications manager, Helen White. Staff deal mostly with chronic diseases. Michelle Edkins, a pain resource nurse at the hospital, spoke to Seagal about her work and said later that he had seemed very interested. "I got a sense that (Seagal) understands a lot of the suffering these children are enduring," she said.

ACTION movie star Steven Seagal has won a special place in the hearts of ailing brothers Roopesh and Bhavesh Ramjee of Malabar, Port Elizabeth. Seagal who was filming Mercenary in Cape Town, surprised the brothers suffering from a rare genetic bone disease, with a telephone call to their home last week. Bhavesh, 23, an avid Seagal fan, had asked his parents to contact the Red Cross hospital in Cape Town where the movie star was due to visit. “We phoned the the hospital PRO, who took our details. We were pleasantly surprised when Seagal phoned us back personally to chat,” said their mother, Champa. Seagal was calling from a cellphone while driving to the airport to board a plane out of South Africa after spending months filming in Cape Town. Seagal can be heard saying on a recording of his telephone conversation with Bhavesh: “Thank you very much for watching my movies. “Hope you both keep up your good strength, good health and that you go on in faith.” Asked Bhavesh: “When will you be coming to Port Elizabeth?” Replied Seagal: “I’ll be coming back to Africa soon . . . you’ll find out all about it. My thoughts are with you at this time . . . hoping you guys will be strong together.” Bhavesh asked: “What is the name of your next movie?” Seagal’s response: “Mercenary . . . I’ll be starting another in Europe next. It is titled Shadows of the Past.” “Nice speaking to you . . . we will get together next time. Thank you very much . . . I send you boys my love and respect,” added Seagal. The brothers’ telephone conversation with Seagal was just another in a long list of stars they have been privileged to meet. Among them are Bollywood stars Atshay Kumar, Rani Mukherjee, Sharukh Khan – and Amitabh Bachchan, whom they met in 1999. Disappointingly though, a trip to Disneyland co-ordinated by the Reach for a Dream foundation had to be cancelled when Bhavesh fractured his kneecap while being helped into a taxi in London in 1995, en route to the US. But the Ramjee brothers yearn most for friends. Confined to sitting upright on their beds due to their brittle bone structure, they lament: “We can’t use computers and can only sit and watch TV. We are very disappointed that we don’t have friends and family coming to visit.” The two were diagnosed with Sialidosis – a progressive genetic bone disease – at a young age. They are believed to be the only people in South Africa with the disease. The boys, whose condition is worsening, said: “We are living in hope and praying every day for some miracle.”

AMERICAN movie star Steven Seagal made a stop over in Accra on Monday on his way to shoot a film in South Africa. Steven Seagal, is expected to be back next month to take part in an HIV/AIDS programme dubbed, " Save a million lives", organised annually by the Neko Tech Centre, a local NGO at Ada. During a brief interaction with journalists at the Airport, Mr Seagal said he is looking forward to participating in the project and was therefore thrilled to be invited. "I have been planning to come to Ghana to support Princess Ocansey and the Neko Tech Center with the AIDS Orphan Project".

Mr Asamoah Boateng, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City who was also at the Airport to welcome Mr Seagal said his presence in the country served as a boost to the Tourism Industry as well as the Film and Music Industry in the country, since he was a star of international repute. Also at the Airport to meet him were the Deputy Minister of Information, Sherry Ayorkor Botchwey and representatives of the Film and Music Industry.
